Action by Churches Together (ACT) International is a global alliance of
churches and relief agencies assisting thousands of people recovering from
emergencies in more than 50 countries worldwide.
World Council of Churches
The World Council of Churches (WCC) is the broadest and most inclusive among
the many organized expressions of the modern ecumenical movement, a movement
whose goal is Christian unity.
World Council of Churches - Youth Page
Youth is one of the important constituencies of the WCC. The WCC seeks to
integrate young people’s insights into all WCC work and contribute to their
ecumenical leadership development. To meet our goals of raising awareness,
fostering solidarity and equipping young peoples as leaders, we work through
the World Youth Programme (WYP), the Internship
and Stewards’
programmes. The WCC considers youth as young people between 18 and 30 years.
World Student Christian Federation
The Federation is bringing together students of every country, and is thus
helping them to understand the point of view, the particular tendencies and
aspiration of nations other than their own.
Children’s Defense Fund
A secular organization begun in 1973 which is devoted to the needs of children
in the U.S.
CDF provides a strong, effective voice for all the children of America who cannot vote, lobby, or speak for themselves. We pay particular attention to the
needs of poor and minority children and those with disabilities.
Church World Service
Church World Service is 36 Protestant, Anglican, and Orthodox communions in
the U.S., cooperating worldwide in programs of long-term development, emergency
response, and assistance to refugees.
Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance
The Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance is a new and broadly ecumenical network for
international cooperation in advocacy on HIV/AIDS and global trade.
More than 85 churches and church-related organizations have joined the Alliance by committing
themselves to “speak out with one voice against injustice, to confront
structures of power, practices and attitudes which deprive human beings of
dignity and to offer alternative visions based on the Gospel”. This
commitment to joint action brings with it enormous strength and responsibility.
Ecumenical Church Loan Fund (ECLOF)
Ecumenical Church Loan Fund (ECLOF) is a not-for-profit ecumenical
organization based in Geneva, Switzerland. ECLOF’s mission is to provide fair
credit for human development and sustainable communities, in witness to the
Christian faith. ECLOF finances the construction of churches, schools and other community projects.
Most of ECLOF committees today are in the South, and their lending activities
are concentrated on grassroots development projects.
JusticeNet
An electronic community devoted to issues of social justice. JusticeNet is
sponsored by the Society of the Sacred Heart, a Catholic organization, and
associated with the International Commission for Justice and Peace. Contains
areas for information and dialogue, links to groups devoted to specific issues,
and the ability to email government representatives about social justice
issues.
Oikocredit
Oikocredit, as a worldwide cooperative society, promotes global justice by
challenging people, churches and others to share their resources through
socially responsible investments and by empowering disadvantaged people with
credit.
Our vision is that Oikocredit will be a highly respected and leading provider
of opportunities for socially responsible investments and credit for
development.
Fellowship of Reconciliation:
Christian Voices of Compassion, Tolerance, Peace and Justice
“the largest, oldest interfaith peace organization in the US”. FOR seeks to replace violence, war, racism, and economic injustice with nonviolence,
peace, and justice. We are an interfaith organization committed to active
nonviolence as a transforming way of life and as a means of radical change. We
educate, train, build coalitions, and engage in nonviolent and compassionate
actions locally, nationally, and globally.

A communications network for faith-based activist groups. Network provides a
variety of ways that representatives from groups can interact with one another

Pax Christi International
A Catholic international peace movement that began in France at the end of World War II. The movement works in all areas of peace but has a
specific focus on demilitarisation, security and arms trade, development and
human rights, and ecology.
The Plowshare Peace and Justice Center
An education and resource center committed to the creation of a just world
peace which recognizes the dignity and worth of every human being. Resource
includes information on issues as well as specific actions for individuals and
groups.
Speak From the Heart:
Christian Voices of Compassion, Tolerance, Peace and Justice
Speak from the Heart Webzine is designed to present postings that present the
views of “progressive” Christians who seek to present, apply, and live out the
Gospel of grace, faith, love, reconciliation, and inclusiveness. At a time when
much of what is proclaimed in the name of Christianity polarizes our society
and Christianity itself, there is a need for scholarly voices of love and
compassion to present their views, share them with others, and enjoy vibrant
dialogues regarding theological, political, and social issues.
Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom
This secular organization was founded in 1915 and works to create an
environment of political, economic, social and psychological freedom for all
members of the human community, so that true peace can be enjoyed by all.

Churches Uniting In Christ - CUIC
On January 20, 2002, nine denominations inaugurated a new relationship to be
known as Churches Uniting in Christ (CUIC). Each communion has pledged before
God to draw closer in sacred things - including regular sharing of the Lord’s
Supper and common mission, especially a mission to combat racism together. Each
church also committed itself to undertake an intensive dialogue toward the day
when ministers are authorized to serve and lead worship, when invited, in each
of the communions. It is an officially recognized invitation to live with one
another differently. Churches Uniting in Christ is a framework for showing to
the world what we truly are - the one Body of Jesus Christ.

National Council of Churches

Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity

Founded in 1948, the WCC is an organization representing about 400 million
